A) Written Communication
powerpoint
I would say that I am strongly skilled in written communication as I always make sure my punctuation and grammar are correct and am able to write in a manner that is appropriate to whom I am addressing. Moreover, I have a lot of experience creating presentations for ideas and analysis in a way that is legible, clear, and engaging in order to make it understandable for the audience so that it sticks in their mind.
I also have experience with Production Schedules, Budgets, Risk Assessments, Recces and other forms necessary within productions.
In terms of areas for improvement, I need to practice in being more concise, particularly in analysis, as I tend to drift from the key point, resulting in lengthy meandering paragraphs.
B) Verbal Communication
I've had experience producing multiple projects such as short films, podcasts, and radio shows which involved a lot of communication and negotiation with the cast and crew in order to arrange production/shooting schedules and to complete location scouts, risk assessments, recces etc as well as make sure that each member was completing tasks to a high quality and by the deadline.
I have also pitched for documentary and film ideas which required me to project my voice and confidence to an audience which is something I need to continue improving on.
C) Practical Production
I am intermediately skilled in a range of software such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and MAYA, utilising them within my college work as well as for personal and professional work. This will allow me to understand the workflow of various team members such as the designer and artist and to help them where needed.
I have also used programs such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to create various forms needed in pre-production such as Recces, Risk Assessments, Schedules etc. In order to improve my skills in this area, I need to become more advanced with scheduling and form programs like Word and Exel to better my organisation.
